Q: Why should a cinema use usheru?
A: Is business slow for a particular film or on a certain night of the week? Well usheru allows any cinema to sell tickets for underperforming content in real time and at the touch of a button. By using usheru you can reach an extensive database of users with a diverse interest in all types of cinema content. What’s more is usheru can send your offer directly to the users we know will be most interested in seeing it.

Q: How does the application work?
A: We already have access to your full listings so it couldn’t be easier for you or your staff to make an offer. You just log into our system, select the film, then choose an offer price or promotion you think will entice some extra ticket sales, choose the amount of tickets you want to make available and then just make it live. All done in just one minute. Usheru will then take care of the rest and push your promotion to the relevant users allowing them to purchase the tickets right there on their phone.

Q: How does usheru generate revenue?
A: usheru takes an agreed percentage of each ticket sold through our application. If the tickets don’t sell then the cinema doesn’t pay anything.

Q: Does it cost anything to sign up with usheru?
A: No, partnering with usheru is completely free. We’ll even cover the cost of any system integration needed with your back office software as well as any hardware installation needed at your cinema.

Q: Will usheru promote a film prior to a cinema’s knowledge?
A: No, after all it’s the cinema who makes the offer so we would never promote something without instruction from a cinema.

Q: Where does usheru get its database of users?
A: Through various marketing and promotional techniques, usheru has built up a large database of users with a genuine interest in film and going to the cinema.

Q: Ok, I like what you do and want to sign up...what next?
A: Firstly, a wise decision! Secondly, it’s simple, go to our cinema partner site and in 5 simple steps you can have your venue set up.

Q: A customer doesn’t have an e-ticket, what do I do?
A: We have plenty of contingencies so that a customer’s payment will be registered somewhere. They will have an e-ticket in their account on the app, they will get an email confirming their payment with an e-ticket attached, and you will have a list of attendees who have bought through usheru - all of these are acceptable.

Q: What support will be provided to help train our staff for the system?
A: We tailor our support for every film event organiser to meet your training requirements. This may be on-site as required which will be supplemented by a comprehensive suite of training videos for you and your staff.

Q: Who are usheru’s ticketing partners?

Q: Okay so usheru have partnerships with all of these big ticket providers, what does this mean for me?
A: Combined, our ticketing partners cover about 70% of the cinema market in the UK and Ireland, so chances are, you’re using one of them. These are big players in the market and we don’t expect to take their share. So what we’ve done is combine our technology, so that we can work together to fill more seats. Any sales processed through usheru will appear seamlessly in your cinema’s system.

Q: My current ticket provider is one of your partners, what does this mean for me?
A: Why, it simplifies it immensely! There will be little disruption and less training for staff. If you have ticket collection machines, usheru customers will be able to easily collect their tickets via reference number without any involvement of your staff!

Q: My current ticket provider isn’t one of your partners, what does this mean for me?
A: No big deal at all! We can arrange suitable ticket allocation that suits all parties. For instance, you can allocate us 10 tickets per screening. The offer will be taken down at a standard 90 minutes before the screening, and whatever we don’t sell will be released back to the cinema to sell at the door.

Q: So what will the ticket collection/check-in process be like if I come on board with usheru?
A: We have a scanner app that can be downloaded via any android phone. The customer can simply present their usheru e-ticket and your usher just scans it. The customer will either be checked in successfully, or it will not accept the e-ticket under the circumstances that it has already been scanned, they are too early or the time or date of the screening has passed.

Q: How does the consumer transaction work?
A: Think of usheru like a credit card transaction service. We process the payment and you get batch payments which are quickly matched a few days later.

Q: How and when is the money transferred?

A: Percentage rates depend on ticket prices and they can be transferred to the consumer as a booking fee. If you’re not comfortable passing it all onto the consumer, you can divide it between yourself and the consumer to whatever ratio suits your budget best.

Q: Where will we receive marketing support?
A: Through push notifications via the app of nearby consumers who we believe will like what you’re trying to promote, social media: twitter (30,000+ followers), Instagram (9,000+ followers), and Facebook (1,200+ followers), original blog content, and oldschool email marketing.

Q: So what will the ticket collection/check-in process be like if I come on board with usheru?
A: Your box office team will have access to the backend that is set up exclusively for the festival. You will be able to see and export all ticket sales for every event.
